In this project, Takemoto reflects on what lies at the end of endless competition within capitalist society. Looking back at human history, humanity has continuously pursued expansion by extending territories, advancing technology, and increasing economic power at the level of individuals, corporations, and governments while constantly chasing new innovations. In recent years, the emergence of generative AI has accelerated the pace of technological advancement even further.
Through this work, Takemoto critiques the uncontrollable competition of contemporary society. Many people believe that humanity holds the greatest power on Earth and is capable of controlling everything. Takemoto challenges this assumption. Drawing from his personal experiences with numerous natural disasters in Japan, he rejects this human-centered belief. Through this piece, he suggests the presence of forces greater than humanity and emphasizes the importance of objectively reexamining modern society.
